I have a fit bit and initially set it to a goal of 5000 steps. I found that I would walk up and down the hallways of my house at night just to reach that goal. I have set my goal to 8000 steps now and sometimes even make it :-)
I've been using a fitbit. The way I'm built I never had success with a pedometer. The Fitbit really is helpful for me.
It was a huge motivator in the beginning... determined to meet goals. Unfortunately, that has not mattered much to me lately.
I have a Fitbit tracker and I can keep better track of my walking. Every couple of months . I set it up a little bit more and it's helping me.
I have a Garmin Vivofit 2. I love it!!! I have some major back issues and can't really workout. I used to get in 10,000 steps a day until my back issues started. I have it set for 6,000 steps a day. Up from 4,000 a day. I know it's not the 10,000 a day I should get but it's a start. You can also set it to put a red bar at the top of the screen to remind you to get up and move. When I get the red bar I start to walk around my kitchen, living room and dining room to get myself moving. It's has really motivated me a lot. I also love that it's waterproof.
