Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y)
A MyObesityTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone know where I can go or what I can do to get coverage for me to have the Roux-en-Y surgery? My husband's work will not get insurance coverage for any weight loss surgery.

My husband's place of work will not have that as a covered operation. After talking to the insurance company they said they will only cover it only AFTER a cardiac event, heart diease, or anything. Even now that I am considered prediabetic they still wont cover it because I have not had a serious diabetic issues

See, I just don't understand that. This is a life extender. Insurance should pay the whole thing. It's preventive measurement from future illnesses.

By gastric pass do you mean when they make your one intenstile smaler or how do they plan to do it. If it is the one I am talking about first let me talk to you about it. I had one!
