Members rallied around someone struggling with constant food cravings and emotional eating, with many sharing that they face the same battle and that it requires tremendous patience and self-compassion to work through. Several members offered practical strategies that have helped them, including asking yourself if you're truly hungry before eating, keeping healthier snacks like fruits and vegetables on hand, drinking flavored water, taking walks to redirect attention, practicing chair exercises or yoga, and gradually swapping out high-calorie foods for more nutritious alternatives while still enjoying food in moderation. A recurring theme was the importance of taking baby steps, being gentle with yourself when you slip, finding outlets like exercise or writing to process emotions, and leaning on community support to stay encouraged on the journey.

Be gentle with yourself.
Start with one small change at a time.
Keep talking to us here. We are listening.
Another, Be Happy .
I'm finding the weight is coming off but i think it's because I'm happier now.
I accept that i can do this and that it takes time.
As long as i keep moving forward i will get there eventually and if not, I'm determined to be happy anyway.

I too am an emotional eater. I try to control it, but it seems to get the best of me at times. Somewhere in my childhood food became my comfort. Which has led me to where I am today.

I am a food aholic too! It is not sugar, or salt....just eating makes me happy. I don't know how I do this when I figure I am an intelligent enough person, yet cannot change! I don't wanna be a like so many of my skinny friends - never eat - are no fun!

Learn to love other foods one at a time. Chips for no salt no butter popcorn. Then. Mayonnaise/avacado. It takes time but together things can be good for you and yummy too. Just keep it in moderation bc anything can be too much.
