Fat-shaming is very damaging and its perpetrators tend to be sadistic. What we need to know is who does it and why they do it. In motives we can discern actions, your story can help put an end to it. Be brave.
Elice, the sad truth is, most people who are super-obese literally expect that kind of thing, and are on guard against it constantly, which of course makes it worse. Thanks for sharing. Marion, good… read more
I've had issues with arch and heel pain since I was 150lbs and about 31-32% body fat. While I wasn't obese, I was overweight then. I'm currently 170lbs and 34-35% body fat according to calipers. I'm considered obese. I was 182lbs and 36% body fat back in early Febuary. Due to my low arches on my feet, if I stand for a long period of time, I get sharp and stabbing pain in my arches, heels, balls of my feet, and sometimes it extends to my knees and shins. In 2020- early 2022, it only did so in my… read more
Thank you so much for the suggestions! I was considering getting some insole supports for my shoes, as I always wear gym shoes everyday. I honestly think the issue is because of my lower arches, but… read more
Hi there
I have not been on this site for a while, but have missed it. My mom was sick, and passed away in January of this year. I am not good AT ALL at loving myself. I love others, and want nothing but good for them, but I tend to sabotage myself. I would like to keep in touch with others who might be feeling the same way. I am 53, weigh 240, and I’m only 5’3” tall. I feel like I’m older than I really am. I am premenopausal, and that’s not helping me any. I want to be positive for… read more

Does anyone want to try the challenge or add some ideas to it?
Thanks

Hello. I’m Grammie. Well, my Nana used to tell us that if we fall down, to pick ourselves up and try again. I prefer “ if at first you don’t succeed, try try again” . It doesn’t happen overnight, just… read more
I was in a different mind-set then & want to redo it. Kaiser Permanente won’t do it! Any Advice would be greatly appreciated.
My GIT doc advised me to undergo a revision gastric sleeve, but he is of the opinion I should have a bypass this time around. I developed a very large hiatus hernia so it needs to be operated upon… read more
Hi...I'm wondering how frequently I should be weighing myself...and does it matter if it's morning or night?...
Monthly. The first Monday of each new month. Weigh and measure.
I'm battling a condition called lymphedema on my thights and it has put a stop on my mobility, I can't do much of anything, I can barely get out the house, I can only walk a few step without being tied, it's a struggle to just go to the bathroom. I've been battling this for 5 almost 6 years now and it's getting harder by the day.
