Fashion Show
A MyObesityTeam Member asked a question 💭

There are some of the nicest ladies on my Obesity team. Some needs something to do that they will enjoy. If I invited them to model in the fashion show and show them how many more ladies there are that are obese but has found something to do. I know it will motivate them even more. I don't want to go against the rules here, is why I am asking.

Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y)
A MyObesityTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone know where I can go or what I can do to get coverage for me to have the Roux-en-Y surgery? My husband's work will not get insurance coverage for any weight loss surgery.

A MyObesityTeam Member

My husband's place of work will not have that as a covered operation. After talking to the insurance company they said they will only cover it only AFTER a cardiac event, heart diease, or anything… read more

A MyObesityTeam Member asked a question 💭

The new year is just a couple of days away! It is time to think about what it is you want to different in your life. New Year's resolutions are easy to make but hard to keep, so instead of making specific resolutions, I am adopting key words for myself for the new year.

My words are OPTIMISM, CONFIDENCE, and FAITH. What words will you adopt?

Does Anyone Else Here Have Arthritis In Their Back And Knees? If So, What Treatments Have Worked For You?
A MyObesityTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have arthritis in my back that has been treated with injections. I've even had the nerve endings in the L3-L5 region in my back burned and had a cortisol shot in my s1 region. The swelling is gone, but not the pain. My knees have been left untreated. The pain gets unbearable at times, but my doctor only says lose weight. I've told her several times that I'm usually an active person, but pain makes me not want to be active. I need relief. Any suggestions. I've already considered… read more

Where To Turn? What To Do?
A MyObesityTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi there
I have not been on this site for a while, but have missed it. My mom was sick, and passed away in January of this year. I am not good AT ALL at loving myself. I love others, and want nothing but good for them, but I tend to sabotage myself. I would like to keep in touch with others who might be feeling the same way. I am 53, weigh 240, and I’m only 5’3” tall. I feel like I’m older than I really am. I am premenopausal, and that’s not helping me any. I want to be positive for… read more
