Dr. Irina Burd is the Sylvan Frieman, M.D. Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Maryland. She specializes in high-risk pregnancies and fetal brain development. Her research focuses on improving outcomes for parents and babies with complex pregnancy conditions. Dr. Burd’s clinical and research work includes more than 160 peer-reviewed publications and multiple national awards in maternal-fetal medicine.
