Oh Lord your post came straight out of my mouth. We must be twins. I dont know if it my depression making me eat wrong, laziness, or just self sabotage.
I can get motivated and shop right for all the "good" foods the watch them rot in the fridge because I cant be bothered cooking. Motivation over. Exercise is a no go as well. By the time I finish work I am in too much pain to do anything else. Sorry, I started to support and ended up complaining. Just know you are not alone.

I know this is easier said than done, but have a glass of water, keep yourself busy with a book or something and wait 20 min. Another thing I did was substitute something healthy and listen to my body yell at me. lol Eventually the cravings for the garbage food went away.

There is no advice. I feel we all have the same issues here. A lot of times the eating response is automatic. To change this activity is very hard but can be done.....over time and with repeated reminders to ourselves. Many times we grab what we want and after realize just what we have done, but too late.....it is in these realizations that we will slowly change our way of thinking and hopefully we will eventually change that ONE habit. This could take months but once mastered it will help. Responding and reacting with positive changes are what will work. I still go for cookies and sweets but not near as often now. My sweet eating times are down and my fruit and veggie options are up....still not where I want them to be but on the move for sure. Slow and steady wins the race!!!!! Not a perfect answer and I realize everyone has different issues. I emotionally eat....no medication issues, no serious illness issues...Everyone is different and we have to find our way with some help and ideas from others.

Try drinking a full glass of water before you indulge in what you are craving. Also, have fruit on hand so that you have something nutritious to eat. If you still want to have a treat, do it because I have found that you will crave endlessly unless you satisfy yourself.

When I lost a lot of my weight before, I kept busy a lot which helped......I also had a cup of coffee with sugarines to help give me a sweet fix, plus I read that coffee helped with cravings which it helped.....but this time around its not working as well.....but......I will get there 😀
