Has anyone had the lap band? I'm going to a seminar for it next month. Still on the fence but willing to look into it.

I got a lap band in 2006. It didn't decrease my hunger - it just made me throw up eating certain things. It did give me signals to stop eating. It let me eat unhealthy things but not healthy. for example meat, eggs and some veg. were impossible. I would look at gastric bypass or the sleeve now. There are so much safer now and less invasive than they were.

I found this wonderful site with people who are having and had surgery. A lot have said lap band is bad and not performed much anymore.

I have. It was good for about 6 months and then downhill. After many complications, I had it removed and did the sleeve. Have you researched the sleeve?
I also know several others that have had major issues with the band.

I wish I could have had the "sleeve."
