Members shared varied perspectives on dairy products in response to the question of whether they are too fattening or healthy, with the overwhelming consensus being that moderation and choosing less processed options are key. Several members described their personal approaches, including switching to fat-free or low-fat versions like skim milk and 0% Greek yogurt, using dairy alternatives such as soy milk or almond milk while still enjoying cheese and butter in controlled portions, and prioritizing whole milk and real butter over highly processed products. A recurring theme was the balance between personal enjoyment and health needs, with members acknowledging challenges like cholesterol concerns, weight management, and the difficulty of giving up beloved foods like cheese while finding practical compromises that work for their individual bodies.

I use whole milk, regular Tillamook medium cheddar cheese, regular yogurt etc. My opinion is the more we have processed a food the unhealthier it is to our bodies. However, because of disabilities I do not move well so I limit my use. I dont drink milk but I will use it as an ingredient, same with cheese and yogurt. I can get milk raw fresh from the dairy however I don't trust that the milker was thorough in cleaning the bag and teats. So yo the store I go! I use real butter, not margarine. But once again I can not allow myself to be wild and crazy. Moderation.
