Yes, I have gained about 80 pounds, and maybe a little more and more than once. I had my surgery in 2001, and it has been a constant struggle. The surgery is merely a tool to help us lose it and keep it off. We still have to be aware of calories and nutrition every day. This last spring I got real sick, and I couldn't beat it. After 3 months of suffering I figured that if my immune system could not take care of a simple virus, then I must really be unhealthy. This is when I realized that I needed to take control of what and how much I was eating. I finally admitted that I was addicted to carbs. I stopped eating the white, unhealthy carbs and, I started losing weight and feeling better. After a few weeks I stopped craving sugar, rice, pasta and bread. I have lost 33 pounds since then, and I have 34 more to go to be where my surgeon had told me was a good weight for me. Good luck to you, and never give up. You are worth it!
I gained all back except 10 pounds about 8 years after surgery. I'm now exercising and doing low carb and it's slowly coming off.
I had a gastric bypass in 2003. SW 410, I got down to 258. I am currently at 355. I’ve accomplished every goal I’ve set for my life except permanent weight loss.
I had the sleeve in 2009. I was 340-360 and I lost a total of 186 pounds. I kept most of the weight off for about 8 years then started gaining back in 2016. Then by August of 2016 I topped the scale at 260. My current weight today is 300 lbs. A lot is medical, so exercising is hard. I try and eat still in small portions but when I do eat it's all the wrong foods. Trying to regain control over my weight again. Another surgery is not an option I have.
