I would like to join or start (if one not already on progress) a Keto support group. Anyone who has been successful or anyone interested in keto would be able to join. What do you think? I need help!!

People think it is expensive. I spent less money eating this way. Much cheaper that all the fast food, junk, sweets, etc. Mostly meat, fish , vegetables, a little fruit and dairy, etc. It does not have to be organic . And frozen vegetables are just as nutritious if not more so, than fresh. Google it. I did. Can buy these at Walmart, etc. I was on 3 blood pressure medications. Diagnosed with hypothyroidism several years ago. I blamed that on my reason for not being able to loose weight. My doctor told me that is a ridiculous excuse because my meds had the thyroid under control. Guess I found out she was right. My triglycerides went from 267 to 93. Am now on one bp meds averaging bp around 113-117. Lowered L-thyroxine from 125mg to 100mg. My cardiologist is one that was mostly treating me for the high BP as my family had history of strokes and fatal heart attacks. I had a echo stress test in May 2019 and all is great. After being under her care for nearly 4 years, I no longer am seeing her as she said no need now. Just every 6 mo with my primary doctor now. I had a rheumatologist for a few years as was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis in my lower back and right knee. Plus neuropathy in my feet. As of last January, she released me, saying just the elimination of all the sugar and other inflammatory foods, plus the loss of the excess weight , I no longer have pain from these issues. Worth it...you betcha !! And if I could do it at 73 yrs old, I know you youngin's can.

I never had any negative issues when on Keto and only positive results. Like anything be sensible and don't over tax nor stress your body or brain. Many people go at it really gung ho at first and then burn out quickly from negative reactions. Go easy on the fats. Many people really push this and I feel that is what most get sick from. Our bodies needs a certain amount of fats and what most on Keto do not realize, that fat is mostly just a buffer not a requirement on this diet. It helps with hunger, curbs appetite and helps with cravings. But does not matter if eat much less for actual weight loss. I only ate what happened to be in the item, plus the heavy whipping cream in my morning coffee. But I have always used real cream in my coffee. Plus I would eat the fat that was in the meat I cooked and would make meatloaf, etc .using 80% ground beef. Leave the skin on the chicken. Fat in the butter I used for cooking and put lots of it on my veggies, etc. I use olive oil for cooking also, and making my salad dressing, etc. I eat a avocado almost daily. So I don't add any for fat than mostly this. I do eat bacon and sausage once in awhile also. That has fat of course also. Don't over do the fat and you will be fine. Eat some protein as low or practically no carb in fish and red meat. Need the protein, for blood, iron, and energy, etc. Many people skimp on this as think too fattening. Not so. It is the starchy foods like potatoes, breads, pasta, etc that is bad and fattening. When was really pushing the weight loss. I would fill up on meat and eat tons of veggies. only ones grown above the ground. Except for the high carb corn. These veggies don't have enough carbs nor calories to worry about so can use more for satisfying hunger . Ones with higher amounts of fiber is more filling. Protein stays with us longer so keeps hunger down some also.

I usually eat low carb and more Protein and I don’t worry about the fat. As long as I keep the carbs down below 10 grams a meal.

I'll join that if you get one going! It all seems kind of confusing to me I've heard rumors about fasting keto flu and other things oh. I'm hoping that if I just follow the meal plans that I have I will avoid all The nasty parts.
