A MyObesityTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have a significant amount of weight to lose (300 + lbs) and am wondering if anyone has had success with weight loss medications and if so which ones?

I have been taking phentermine for the past 21 days and have lost about 10lbs. I started at 313 and now 303. I also take prescribed vitamin d pills bc I have an vitamin d deficiency. I have been taking the vitamin d pills for about 7 weeks. The combination of the vitamin d and weight loss has given me the energy to do 30 mins of cardio 3 to 4 times a week. However one disclaimer of the phentermine is its giving me major anxiety so beware. Good luck in your journey.

I am on Ozempic. I lost the majority of my weight before I was on it but I hear about how other people have lost a lot. It makes me less hungry. It is worth a shot. Years ago, I tried Contrave but I didn't help. Good luck

On June 1st, 2020, I looked in the mirror, which I always avoid, and was horrified at how big I was. I started eating better that day. I lost 48 pounds and hit a plateau that lasted 1.5 years. Then I started Ozempic and am now down 80 pounds. I am very short so this is a huge amount. Ozempic makes you lose your appetite, that is how it works. I am assuming you felt weak because you were not eating enough. Make sure you never go below 1200 calories per day. You should give it another try. I know many people that it has helped. It brought my blood sugar numbers down to normal as well. I am not sure what other medications available but it is worth a try to try Ozempic again. See what the doctor says. Good luck to you.
