Members shared diverse approaches to managing obesity, with the overwhelming consensus being that sustainable lifestyle changes work better than restrictive diets. Several members described practical strategies that have helped them lose significant weight, including cutting portions in half, using smaller plates, prioritizing 70-90 grams of protein daily, drinking large amounts of water throughout the day, eliminating sodas and white carbs, eating more vegetables and salads, and exercising regularly. A recurring theme was the importance of viewing healthy eating as a permanent lifestyle rather than a temporary diet, giving yourself grace when you struggle, and finding what works for your individual body and circumstances.

I started the Mediterranean diet last week, as was recommended for liver disease. I lost 5 1/2lbs my first week. It is definitely a change but will hopefully keep the scaring in my liver from progressing.
