this is tough indeed. Maybe even though have aversion to flavored water take tiny sips throughout the day to try and desensitize yourself to not gag. With kidney issues as you know water is the best for you to help the kidneys with its processing other things without adding more to its load.

What are some drink options besides soda when you don't like water?

Finding drinks you enjoy that support your health with high blood pressure can take some trial and error. Here are some options to consider:

* Unsweetened iced tea (hot or cold)
* Black coffee or tea with just a splash of milk
* Sparkling water (unflavored or lightly flavored)
* Diet beverages in moderation
* Broth or clear soups for hydration

Since you're managing high blood pressure, it's especially important to avoid drinks high in added sugar and sodium. Regular soda can work against your health goals.

Coffee and tea may offer additional benefits, especially if you drink them plain or with minimal additions. Skip the sugar, flavored syrups, and heavy creamers to keep them healthier.

Staying hydrated is really important for your overall health, so keep experimenting until you find something that works for you. A MyObesityTeam member shared success with creative swaps: "Take the bread away from the fast foods, and you'll do fine."

Talk with your doctor or a registered dietitian about drink options that fit your specific health needs. They can help you find choices that you'll actually enjoy drinking.

Try iced teas! The ones you brew are best.

I did the flavored water for awhile but quit. Now when I want something other than water Ill drink unsweetened tea or make a cup of herbal tea. There are several flavors I like.
