How Do You Manage Your Osteoarthritis Pain Through The Day ? Do You Take Over The Counter Pain Reliever? Or Prescription Medication
A MyObesityTeam Member asked a question 💭

Do you approach holistic remedies? How about exercise or chores when you are so stiff and in so much pain ? Do you have any energy at all? Or does the weather makes your condition with Osteoarthritis worst ? Have you have any type of surgery for Osteoarthritis? How long was the time to took to recuperate from all that ? Has surgery make you better or do you feel worst that before surgery

I use aromatherapy, and lots and lots of self massages.
I keep moving. Love to be in water, which is soothing in itself.
It.
I pick a time when I have the energy to do things, then schedule the rest.
Plus drinking lots and lots of water. Women need to drink 9 cups of water a day.
That helps to lubricated the joints, and eases the pain.

I take for mine tramadol and meloxicam and gabapentin , I have been to a rhematologist who recomend a total hip and both knees replacements and to the orthopedics who recommends the same procedure and both had prescribed the same medicine , tramadol leaves me with a bad after taste on my mouth , meloxicam gives me stomach pain so severe that I have to take another medication for that and gabapentin makes me so drowsy I can not get behind the wheel , and my balance is bad everyday its worst I use a walker , and on my better days a walking cane .... I am so sick and tired of having to take medication ....

hi,...so far no surgery's for OA.....keeping my finger's crossed!....the weather does affect me, when rain is in the forecast and humidity.....i only use Naproxin and only take if i absolutely have to, in other words i need to be in dire straits like can't stand it any more to use pain pills....hugs to you, feel better (at least a little bit....:).....Am very interested in holistic medicine and alternative medicine.....doesn't matter to me where it originates, like China or America.....if it works....I'm on board!!....:)

am very interested in alternative medicine, would much rather take "all natural" vs doctor's drugs....doing chores somedays is ok, other days is rough.....have had no surgery's and energy level is.....almost non-existant as i also have fibromyalgia......yes, i'm a "mess"......:)......alot of this probably has to do with my eating habits!!

Swimming, sauna, and steam room at the YMCA really helps the best.
