Staying Positive and Obesity

Posted on March 16, 2018

"Good news I am down 11 pounds and 7 inches off of my waistline. This makes me even more determined to stay on my change of lifestyle. I am keeping busy and trying to stay positive. I hope everyone else is doing well!" -A member on MyObesityTeam

On MyObesityTeam, the social network and online support group for those living with obesity, members talk about a range of personal experiences and struggles. Staying positive is one of the top 10 topics most discussed.

Here are some conversations about staying positive:

I see you in the future and you look spectacular. You are radiating the you that you are without shame, without disdain and without the view of anyone else. You look like the wonderful you that you are!

I didn't like who I saw in the mirror. Now I'm dealing with it, with the help of this team. Start loving yourself and you will be who you want to be.

It's a bit harder on weekends but I am trying. I know I have to make this a way of life and not just a diet.

The best medicine I could have had was the pure and sweet love of my grandchildren. The hugs around my neck are pure joy and love.

No matter when the weather gets cold and aches and pain throughout my body, the day is a good day. I have the power to speak over myself the positive and not the negative. This to shall pass.

I have not told many of my friends yet how close I am to my goal weight or here for that matter. I hope this helps others to realize it is possible. Has not been easy but so worth it!
