I have arthritis in my back that has been treated with injections. I've even had the nerve endings in the L3-L5 region in my back burned and had a cortisol shot in my s1 region. The swelling is gone, but not the pain. My knees have been left untreated. The pain gets unbearable at times, but my doctor only says lose weight. When some people are stressed, upset and worried they stop eating I eat and eat.
for me i go to my crafts especially the ones i have downstairs in our rec-room as it is farther away from the kitchen
... especially for someone like me in my 40’s...
Try eating for 15 mins for each meal. That is what I am doing. If you still are hungry after wait a few minutes. Maybe drink water with your meal as well.
Fat-shaming is very damaging and its perpetrators tend to be sadistic. What we need to know is who does it and why they do it. In motives we can discern actions, your story can help put an end to it. Be brave.

Thank goodness for the Church Food Pantry. Unfortunately very high sugar and carbs. Occasionally fresh veggies or fruit.
I am 6.1ft and weigh 401lbs
My daily diet consists of:
10 glasses of water
Morning - Oats / Muesli & Yogurt
Lunch - Chicken Breast / Fish with Steamed Veg
Dinner - 3 Cracker bread / Rice Cakes with Plain Cottage cheese and cucumber
I train 5 days per week. Each session would be:
10min Treadmill Walk (1/2 mile)
10min Row
10min upright cycle (3.5 miles)
10min body shaker
In Total if I add up what the machines tell me I burn +- 400 Calories per session.

Meaning that you and your companion started out doing a lot of things together! They would take you out to eat and different places but when you began to gain weight; it started to slow down until it stopped because they were too embarrassed to be seen with you!

I eat when I am bored, I eat when I am tired, I eat when I am frustrated. I am constantly eating for reasons other than hunger. How do I stop? It's like it just slips under my radar and next thing I know, I have polished off a whole pie, or cookies or bag of potato chips.
